Having passed the CTE mantle to THE PINK COUCH in 2010, FTH:K and Hearts & Eyes Theatre Collective were approached by the Klein Karoo Nationale Kunsfees (KKNK) to run a similar venue at their Afrikaans Festival in 2011. Dubbed Iets Anders, this venue is part of an audience-development initiative on the part of the Festival. Iets Anders not only offers its patrons literally something different in terms of festival fare, but also allows audiences that might not be Afrikaans-speaking to be able to participate in and enjoy the KKNK's theatre programme. This is what KKNK have to say about the venue:
"At this year's festival, look forward to cutting-edge performance through images, masks, puppets, innovative design and tons of imagination that transcend language barriers. This is fascinating and compelling theatre, guaranteed! Expect this and more - but definitely razor sharp - at Iets Anders, our new crossover-venue in the South Cape College Hall. With an excellent programme planned, its productions include Hoedens (Hats), London Road, ...miskien, Drome van Jou (Pictures of You) and Rumpsteak."
